Traditional Folk Lit- Robin Hood

The chapter book, Robin Hood by Neil Philip, is a retelling based on the original medieval ballads. The book begins by portraying Robin's country and the feudal system. It briefly explains in text, but the main presentation is pictures of maps, characters, woods and buildings. It includes timelines and description of town buildings. The chapters tell the story with the text on one page and a picture on the other side. Down the sides of both pages are small pictures and maps that give further description of important key terms. I would use this book for research purposes but it is not an easily read book.
